Wildlife authorities rescue a trapped leopard in Nasik
Nasik (Maharashtra), Jan 8 : Wildlife authorities rescued a leopard in Nasik, which was trapped inside the bathroom of a house.
The leopard which ventured towards the residential area of the city, creating panic amongst the residents, entered inside the bathroom of a house and remained there till it was captured by forest officials after a long and tedious rescue operation.
"Our rescue team have given a shot to the leopard so that it becomes unconscious," said Uday Avsak, forest officer.
A huge crowd gathered outside the house to watch the rescue operation, and erupted into jubilant cheers as the forest officials came out with the leopard.
This is not the first instance where a leopard entered inside a residential settlement in the city. Last year, forest officials captured two leopards in separate instances in the same city.
Lack of natural habitat frequently results into the entry of these beasts towards human settlement in search of food.
