Sugar prices rise amid lesser stock supply
Navi Mumbai, Jan 8 (UNI) Wholesale spot sugar prices rose today amid lesser stock supply, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.
Prices of sugar in small and medium grades increased by Rs 20 per quintal each, owing to good demand from retailers.
Sugar prices in ex-mill small and medium grades also shot up by Rs 15 and Rs 5 per quintal respectively, on better buying support, traders added.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,391/1,446, Medium grade: Rs 1,446/1,565.
Ex-mill Small grade: Rs 1,385/1,420 and Medium grade: Rs 1,425/1,500.
