Mizoram gets 17 ambulances under NRHM

Aizawl, Jan 8: Mizoram has received 17 ambulances under the National Rural Health Mission.

The ambulances were flagged off here this morning by state health minister R Tlanghmingthanga for the eight district hospitals and nine community health centres.

Even though the ambulances were designed for BPL families, they would be available for any patients in Mizoram, Tlanghmingthanga said while flagging off the vehicles. He added that health centres buildings in rural areas are being renovated and mobile medical units being prepared for the eight district hospitals under the NRHM.

NRHM mission director Dr N Pallai also informed that plans are on to purchase such ambulances for 30 primary health centres.
