New Delhi, Jan 8 (UNI) Lok Janshakti Party President Ramvilas Paswan today said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati had made false allegations against the Congress in a bid to deflect the attention of people from her party's defeat in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly polls.
Mr Paswan said Ms Mayawati had charged some Congress leaders with conspiring to kill her just to deflect the attention of the people from BSP's poll debacle. He also wondered that a Chief Minister who could not protect herself, how could she protect the people of the state.
The LJP leader has called a meeting of the reconstituted Uttar Pradesh party unit on January 17 to consider the detereorating law and order situation in the state and increasing atrocities on dalits.
Meanwhile, Mr Paswan left for Kuwait today to participate in the Indian Citizens Committee. He would also participate in the two Dalit-Minority International Conference from tomorrow.
Mr Paswan, who heads the Dalit Minority International Forum, would then leave for Dubai where he would address the Dalit Minority International Conference.
The next Dalit Minority International Conference would be held in New York from July 4 to 6. Mr Paswan had presided over first such conference in New Delhi on December 27 to 28, 2007.
