Kanchal exhorts traders to continue battle against VAT

Gorakhpur, Jan 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Udyog Vyapar Pratinidhi Mandal president and Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Banwari Lal Kanchal today exhorted traders to continue battle against Value Added Tax (VAT).

''BSP government is anti-trader...since the day Mayawati became UP Chief Minister, traders are their being harassed,'' Mr Kanchal told reporters here this evening.

To protest the new tax structure, traders would stage strident protests at all district headquarters on January 16 and burn VAT in effigy, he informed.
