HC directs Centre to enhance tender of NH

Ranchi, Jan 8 (UNI) Jharkhand High Court today directed the Centre to grant approval to the state government within a fortnight for enhancing the tender regarding construction of National Highways (NH).

The length of the highways had been exceeded by more than five per cent.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Muthuswamy Karpagyavinayagam and Justice D G R Patnaik passed the order while hearing a writ petition filed by one Harsh Deva Sharan and others.

The court also directed the Centre to constitute a two-men committee consisting of a chief engineer and NH regional officer for effective execution of the construction of in the state.

Earlier, one S B Gadodia, appearing on behalf of the state government, informed the court that about 200kms of road had been repaired of the total 1650 kms of NH.
