Convention planned for boosting of tourism in K'taka

Bangalore, Jan 8 (UNI) Karnataka Tourism department will hold "Connect" Public-Private Partnership Convention on January 10 to set the agenda for the forthcoming years.

Tourism Secretary I M Vittalmurthy told reporters here today that this year's Connect is bing held against the backdrop of a wide range of initiatives that have been launched, particularly in developing infrastructure facilities around heritage destinations.

"At the convention, industry leaders from hospitality, tourism, healthcare alongwith government decision-makers will formulate the agenda for the coming five years," he said.

This year's Connect with a theme 'Poised to Soar' is very objective oriented and will focus on the key issues facing the industry for several years, he said.

A Master Plan is being prepared for the development of infrastructure facilities and would be announced this month end, he said.
