Cold wave abates further, mercury shoots up to 9.6 deg C
New Delhi, Jan 8 (UNI) The cold wave conditions in the Capital today abated further with the mercury shooting up to 9.6 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal.
Continuing the rising trend since last Friday, the minimum temperature today shot up to 9.6 degrees, from 7.8 degree yesterday.
Though a slight fog was witnessed in the morning, visibility levels remained near normal.
The airport sources said the flight operations at the airport were normal with the Runway Visual Range (RVR) remaining at 1000 m.
The coming days could lead to further abatement in the cold wave conditions in the city with the weathermen forecasting a rise in minimum temperature to 12 degrees Celsius tomorrow.
The Met Office forecast a partly cloudy sky for the next 24 hours with possibility of light mist in the morning.
