BJP reviews performance of opposition parties
Raisen, MP, Jan 8 (UNI) The BJP today reviewed performances of main opposition Congress and other opposition parties including the BSP and the SP during the first day of the two-day brainstorming session that got underway at tourist spot Sanchi here today.
Talking to reporters after two sessions, state BJP Vice-President Bijendra Singh Sisodia said the BJP reviewed performance of other parties and carried out self-introspection.
He said the party evaluated the progress of the party during its four-year-rule in the state.
On recent bypoll defeats, Mr Sisodia said the party would look into various aspects during review. He evaded question regarding challenge to the BJP from Uma Bharti's Bharatiya Janshakti.
Regarding leaders conspicuous by their absence, he said MP Kailash Joshi, cabinet minister Jayant Malaiya and MP Sartaj Singh could not come because of unavoidable circumstances.
About selected leaders being invited to the brainstorming session, he said party leaders representing every division was taking part in the meeting.
He said details regarding steps taken for accomplishing targets set during the brainstorming session in Pachmarhi in 2005 would also be presented.
The party will discuss election preparations for the next years' assembly elections on the second day the brainstorming session tomorrow.
Earlier, BJP National Organisational General Secretary Ramlal and BJP's Madhya Pradesh incharge General Secretary Anant Kumar inaugurated the brainstorming session.
