2 Naxals held, Chinese weapon seized in Chandrapur

Nagpur, Jan 8 (UNI) Two suspected Naxalites were arrested and a Chinese weapon and ammunition were seized from them at Chandrapur in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

According to the police, the two men, identified as Manoj Maroti Sonule (25) and Vinayak Maniram Sonule (29), were nabbed during a raid on their living quarters early yesterday. A carbine of China make, two magazines and 135 live cartridges, besides Naxalite literature, including a CD, and other material was seized from them, police said today.

A third person living with Manoj and Vinayak, identified as Gajanan Mohurle, had also been taken into custody for questioning, but had not been placed under arrest.

Manoj And Vinayak have been remanded in police custody till January 15.
