Vice President inaugurates NCC's Republic Day camp
New Delhi, Jan 7 (UNI) Commending the National Cadet Corps for representing the varied values of Indian society through their sense of discipline, unity and social service, Vice President Mohd Hamid Ansari today called on them to strive utmost for the country's progress.
''Aim high and have great dreams of a strong, prosperous and fully developed India,'' he said in his address to the cadets after inaugurating the NCC's Republic Day-2008 camp at the Garrison Parade Ground here.
Dr Ansari visited the various stalls put up by the different state NCC units, listing their projects they were undertaking. He spent some time interacting with them, and later on, posed for photographs with all the cadets from the different states. He also viewed a parade by the cadets.
The Vice President, who was presented a memento on the occasion by NCC DG Lt Gen Prakash S Chaudhary, also signed the Visitors' Book.
He lauded Lt Gen Chaudhary, his officers as well as the cadets for the impressive parade and the display of the organisation's varied social and developmental activities.
