Tiger, Leopard and Otter skins worth Rs 35 lakhs seized
Bangalore, Jan 6 (UNI) Tiger, Leopard and Otter skins together worth Rs 35 lakhs were seized and a five-member gang was arrested in this connection at Hubli City and Haliyal Town in North Karnataka.
Police said that the seized articles included One tiger skin, 21 Leopard skin and 43 Otter skins.
Acting on a tip off forest cell sleuths raided the hideouts of the outlaws last week and arrested the king pin Prabhakar Keshava Ghosh (50) and his associates Arun, Udaya, Parushuram and Sudhabhaskar.
The gang used to smuggle the skins to neighbouring Kerala and Andhra Pradesh States.
