Scotland Yard team visits hospital, police lines


Islamabad, Jan 7: The five-member Scotland Yard investigators probing the December 27 assasination of Former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, visited the Rawalpindi General Hospital and talk to the two doctors who operated on her. Earlier the Scotland Yard team inspected the site of Benazir Bhutto's assassination, as the probe into the December 27 Liaquat Bagh attack gets underway.

The investigators held a meeting with the Rawalpindi Police yesterday and re-examined Bhutto's bullet proof vehicle at Civil Lines Police Station, Geo TV reported. Earlier at Liaquat Bagh, the team inspected the shrapnel and pellet marks on the walls, caused by the suicide bombing and tried to reconstruct the crime scene.The Scotland Yard team says it will share information with the Pakistan Government, the British High Commission and the Commonwealth.

The team will again visit the hospital tomorrow and hold meetings with doctors comprising the medical board.
