Mah: PSI held accepting 50,000 bribe
Thane, Jan 7: A Police Sub-Inspector, attached to the Mira Road Police Station in the district, was nabbed by the Thane unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 in the police station itself tonight.
ACB sources said the PSI, Shafi Shaikh, had demanded a sum of Rs 50,000 from a local estate agent, Adil Shaikh, for not arresting the latter.
Later, Adil lodged a complaint against Shafi with the ACB, whose officials laid a trap in the police station and apprehended the PSI red handed while accepting the bribe money from the agent.
