KVIB asks K'taka govt to release subsidy arrears
Bangalore, Jan 7 (UNI) The Karnataka State Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) has not received the government subsidy for the last three years, KVIB Chief Operating Officer R Rameshappa said today.
Talking to newspersons here, he said ''the subsidy up to 2004 has been cleared but for 2005, 06 and 07, amounting to Rs seven crore, is yet to be cleared by the state government''.
He said the KVIB would showcase its products in 'Khadi Utsav 2008', to be organised jointly by KVIB and Khadi and Village Industries Corporation (KVIC) here from January 10 to February 11.
Besides, women Self Help Groups, AWAKE Lady Entrepreneurs, Coir Board and other government organisations would showcase their products.
Mr Rameshappa said the Utsav had registered a turnover of Rs seven crore last year and targetted Rs ten crore this year.
