Kumaraswamy to resume political activities from Jan 23

Bangalore, Jan 7 (UNI) Janata Dal(Secular) leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, recovering from open heart surgery, will resume his political activities from January 23.

Party General Secretary Y S V Datta told UNI here that Mr Kumaraswamy had fully recovered and would actively involve himself in preparing the party for the mid-term assembly elections.

Doctors, who performed the surgery on him, had advised a long rest, before taking to active politics.

Mr Kumaraswamy would, however, participate in a rally to be held at Palace grounds in the city on January 20 and the party district Presidents' meeting on January 11.

Party supremo H D Deve Gowda would start the election campaign on January 18, along with party State President Merajuddin Patel, he added.
