Hikal signs contract manufacturing agreement with Pfizer

Mumbai, Jan 7 (UNI) Hikal Ltd today announced that it has completed a contract manufacturing agreement for supply of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API's) with Pfizer Inc., a global leader in Pharmaceuticals.

The selection of Hikal as a long term contract manufacturer by Pfizer would have a substantial impact on the company's Pharmaceutical business. said Mr Jai Hiremath, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Hikal Ltd in a release here.

The terms of the agreement was not disclosed.

Hikal is a outsourcing partner to companies in the Pharmaceuticals, Agrochemicals and Specialty Chemicals industry. It was supplying key APIs and intermediates, manufactured using stringent global quality standards, for it's customers in the United States, Europe and Japan. Hikal's advanced manufacturing facilities were located in Jigani (Bangalore) and Panoli (Gujarat).

The crop protection facilities were located at Taloja and Mahad (Maharashtra). Hikal's manufacturing activities are supported by state-of-the-art research centres and pilot plant facilities, located at Bangalore and Taloja respectively.
