Goa CM asks Baalu for widening of National Highways
Panaji, Jan 7 (UNI) A delegation led by Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat today pleaded with Union Shipping and Highways Minister T R Baalu for expeditious widening and upgradation of the two National Highways passing through this capital city.
The Highways are Patradevi to Pollem (NH-17) and Panaji to Belgaum (NH-4). The delegation also pleaded for undertaking construction of a new bridge parallel to the existing Zuari Bridge at Talpon and Gajlibag on NH-17.
The 139 km stretch of NH-17 in Goa was part of 12,109-km-long National Highway approved for upgradation and widening to 4/6 lanes under the National Highway Development Programme Phase-III.
