Doctors' strike: HC directs Kerala Govt to file statement
Kochi, Jan 7 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today directed the State Government to file a statement on the suggestions of the Kerala Government Medical Officers Association to include their allowances with basic pay from the next pay revision and payment of uniform allowances for serving in rural and urban areas.
Posting the case to January 24, a Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice H L Dattu and Mr Justice K M Joseph gave the direction on a writ petition, filed by a doctor, S Ganapathy of Kollam, seeking to declare the strike by doctors illegal and a direction to the State Government to invoke the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) in health services.
