Jammu , Jan 7 (UNI) The Army has vacated all the government structures, including schools and health centres, under its occupation in Jammu and Kashmir , Governor Lt Gen S K Sinha (Retd) today said.
Addressing a joint gathering of state legislature on the opening day of Budget Session, the Governor said almost all the buildings -- belonging to the Education, Health and PHE (Public Health Engineering) departments -- had been vacated in the state.
Similarly, the Army would increase the rent of civilian properties hired in the state, which was a long-pending issue.
''On the request of J and K Government, the Ministry of Defence has agreed to increase the rent of land hired by the army,'' Lt Gen Sinha said.
