Adi Dravidars hold demo on IAS training issue

Puducherry,Jan 7(UNI) The Adi Dravidars Puducherry origin led by Former MLA Deivanayagam today held a demonstration before the Pondicherry Adi Dravidar Development Corporation(PADCO).

The agitation was to protest the announcement by the corporation that graduate Adi Drvaidars residing in this union territory for the last three years could apply for admission to coaching classes for IAS entrance examinations.

The administration proposed to give coaching to 20 Adi Dravidar graduates.

The agitationists maintained such concession should only be provided to the people of Puducherry origin.

PADCO Managining Director Kuppusamy held talks with Mr Deivanayagam and assured to withdraw the advertisement and hold talks with the government for concessions to those of local origin alone.

Following the assurance, the protestors called off their agitation.
