UP high officials under intense security cover

Moradabad, Jan 6 (UNI) Security has been ramped up at the residences of administrative and police officials of Uttar Pradesh, following the New Year fidayeen attack on CRPF group centre at Rampur that claimed eight lives.

Police training academy, three battalions of PAC, police lines and all the police stations had been overnight provided with the AK-47 rifles.

Police personnel installed for the security of the high officials will maintain round-the-clock vigilance.

Police stations had been guarded by making sand-bag-shelters besides, building trenches for the security personnel at officials residences.

High level orders were initiated to give the security cover to the police training academy, which is presently running a batch of eight IPS officers, besides a batch of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and sub-inspector.

Meanwhile, police lines and PAC battalion number 9, 23 and 24 had also made trenches to give shelter to weapon-equipped security men.
