Written by: Staff

Jaunpur, Jan 6: Apna Dal President Sonelal Patel has said the Mayawati-led Uttar Pradesh government has failed to live its promise of maintaining the 'law and order' situation in the state.

On May 13, BSP-supremo Mayawati, immediately after the swearing in ceremony, promised the people of Uttar Pradesh a society free of crime, terror and corruption . However, the condition of state has turned bad to worse, Mr Patel said. He claimed that the government had failed in all its resolutions and the Chief Minister herself had accepted the fact two months ago in an official meeting at the state capital.

The CM accepted that her governmnet had failed to maintain 'law and order' in the state and the promise to provide a clean society to the people was lagging behind, he added. Mr Patil further said crime rate had plummeted in the six month regime of the present government.
