UNPA leaders to meet CACP officials
Hyderabad, Jan 6 (UNI) The United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) leaders will meet the officials of Commission for Agriculture Costs and Prices (CACP) at New Delhi tomorrow to demand a hike in Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy and other crops.
UNPA Convenor and TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, addressing the press here today said the UNPA leaders would also submit a memorandum to the CACP officials, seeking implementation of M S Swaminathan Committee recommendations.
He said the UNPA would raise the issue in the coming Parliament session and would stall the proceedings till the Centre conceded their demands.
Mr Naidu said the UNPA would chalk out a strategy to organise farmers' meetings in every state, where the peasants were not getting adequate MSP for their produce.
