Single visa for all Gulf states under study
Dubai, Jan 6 (UNI) A Schengen-type single visa for all Gulf countries is under consideration by the governments here to attract more international travellers, a report said.
The proposal also includes a move to waive visas for expatriate residents across the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, the Gulf News said.
''The GCC has been discussing single visa proposal as well as waiving of visa for expatriate residents,'' Dr Mohammad Al Asoomi, an economist was quoted as saying.
The proposal was part of regional efforts to form a common market.
Currently, resident expatriates in several categories are given visit visa on arrival in other GCC countries.
