Rural bank employees to proceed on strike on January 10-11

Patna, Jan 6 (UNI) Altogether 70,000 employees of rural banks across the country would go on two days' strike from January 10 to press the management for fulfillment of their charter of demands.

General Secretary of All India Rural Bank Officers and Employees Association D N Trivedi said here today that different organisations of the rural bank staff also called for strike in support of their four point demands.

''Pensions at par with employees of nationalised commercial banks, provision of employment on compassionate grounds in the event of death of staff and special drive for appointments against the vacant posts in various branches are among other demands of the Association,'' Mr Trivedi added.
