Five killed, two critically injured in road accidents in Jammu
Doda, Jan 6 (UNI) At least five passengers, including the driver, were killed when a minibus plunged into a gorge at Banjwar in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources today said.
Bodies of five people, including the driver and the conductor of the vehicle, were recovered from the accident site at Banjwar on Kishtwar-Dul road this morning.
The minibus was reportedly on its way to Dul from Kishtwar late last night when the accident occurred.
The deceased were identified as Ghulam Nabi Baghwan, Imtiyaz Ahmed Sheikh, Firdous Ahmed Baghran, Faqar Din and Mohammad Rafi, sources said.
In another incident, two people were critically injured when then car met with an accident on Bhaderwah-Doda road.
Local MLA of National Conference, Mr Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo, has extended his sympathies to the family members of the victims and demanded for them an ex-gratia relief from the state government.
