Five killed in lorry-bus collision in K'taka

Hubli, Jan 6 (UNI) Five persons, including a woman, were killed on the spot and 14 others were injured when a fruit laden lorry collided with a private bus at Belavadagi cross near Navalgund in Dharwad district today.

Police said the bus was heading towards Bagalkot while the lorry, carrying sweet lemon from Maharashtra, was coming from the opposite side.

The injured, one of whom was in a serious condition, had been admitted to Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences here. The woman had been identified as Paravva Ashoka Koppad while the other four dead were yet to be identified, police added.
