'Dead' woman found alive at brother's residence
Jaunpur, Jan 6 (UNI) A local woman, who was believed to have been killed over dowry by her in-laws, was found 'alive' at her brother's place in Kanpur.
According to police today, the alleged dowry victim, Vandana, was found at her brother's place at Kanpur yesterday.
Vandana, sister of Avadhesh, was married to Manoj Singh at village Surapur here on May 20, 2001.
However, two years ago Vandana went missing under mysterious circumstances.
And suddenly one day, without informing anyone, she resurfaced to live with her brother.
Worried Vandana's mother then alleged that her daughter was killed over dowry.
On December 5, 2007, the woman's husband, brother-in-law, mother and father-in-law were booked in this connection.
Meanwhile, police have brought Vandana in this district to be presented before a court.
