Cattle smuggler shot dead on I-B border
Shillong, Jan 6(UNI) The Border Security Force(BSF) today shot down a cattle smuggler after the frontier guards spotted them along the Indo-Bangla border.
The incident occurred during the wee hours at Gudligaon village, bordering Bangladesh in Mankachar area of Assam's Dhubri district.
The patrolling BSF guards spotted the gang of smugglers trying to push in cattle into Bangladesh from India using its HTTI early this morning, police said.
The smugglers, who was shot down has been identified as a native of Gudligaon village. However, other members of the gang managed to escape with the cattle into Bangladesh.
The BSF, nonetheless, seized five kgs of Ganja from the possession of the deceased smuggler.
