Assn urges TN Govt to speed up disciplinary proceedings

Tiruchirapalli, Jan 6 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Agricultural Engineers Association today appealed to the State Government to speed up all the pending disciplinary proceedings against the staff of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Engineering Department, which were pending for more than a decade.

Talking to newspersons here after the 48th annual general body meeting of the association, state general secretary S Periyasamy said the delay in settling the disciplinary proceeding was causing hardhip to th employees, especially those who were on the verge of ritirement.

In another resoution, the association urged the Government to restructure the department and post an Assistant Execuvtive Engineer in each and every taluks of the state and entrust the maintenance of minor irrigation tanks with the agricultural engineering department.

The meeting wanted the government to expedite the process of regularising the services of Assistant Executive Engineers of the department and to provide additional pensionary benifits to the retired engineers, he added.
