67 per cent children administered polio drops in Haryana
Chandigarh, Jan 6 (UNI) An estimated 67 per cent children between the age of 0-5 years, were administered polio drops under the National Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) round in Haryana today.
Stating this Health Minister Kartar Devi today said during the three-day campaign about 40 lakh children would be covered, after that house-to-house activities would also carried out to administer polio vaccine.
The Minister said that for the successful implementation of the IPPI round, as many as 15,840 booths were set up at locations convenient to the people and about 64,000 vaccinators drawn from health officials, volunteers, Anganwari workers and ASHA were engaged.
Special attention was being given to slums, far-flung areas, isolated hutments and the migrating population, she added.
