Two dead in separate accidents in Mandi

Mandi, Jan 5 (UNI) Two people were killed and 10 injured, a child seriously, in two separate accidents in the district today, police said.

Roshan Lal of Habani village near Rewalsar was killed on the spot after the tractor he was driving overturned.

In another accident, a woman was killed and ten others injured when the private bus in which they were travelling fell into a gorge at Sandhyani, about 35 km from here, at about 1875 hrs.

The police said the bus was on its way to Rewalsar from Baijnath when the accident occurred.

A child who was seriously injured in the accident had been referred to a government hospital here, while the remaining injured were undergoing treatment at a government hospital at Rathi.

The deceased women was yet to be identified, the police said, adding that the cause of the accident in both the cases was yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, a man committed suicide in his house in a village near Rewalsar in the district by drinking poison .

He was immediately referred to a government hospital here where the doctors failed to save his life, the police said.

A case has been registered and investigations are on, the police added.
