Silver closes low, gold remains flat

Mumbai, Jan 5: Silver today closed lower by Rs 30 at Rs 19,910 per kg due to thin buying support by industrial users, while gold remained steady at Rs 10,950 per ten gm on scattered offers by stock-holders, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association (BBA) said.

Following are the closing rates of spot silver and gold: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade : Rs 19,910 (19,940) Gold (per 10 gm) Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 10,950 (10,950) Gold 99.9 purity pure gold : Rs 11,000 (11,000).
