Prayers for Sonia's speedy recovery in UP

Raebareli (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 5: Supporters of Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi held a special prayer at Sidheshwar temple here for her speedy recovery.

The prayer meeting was organised by Akhilesh Singh, the MLA from the Sadar Assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh. "Sonia Gandhi has taken the lead in many development works in the country. We wish her speedy recovery," said a priest at the temple. Srikrishna, another priest at the temple, said they offered prayers for Sonia's long life. "Sonia has always been there with us during our difficult times. We are praying for her speedy recovery. When Akhilesh Singh came to know of her illness, he guided us to organise a Mahamritunjay Jaap (a special prayer for longevity)," he said.

UPA Chairperson Sonia, 61, is recuperating in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi after she was admitted there following chest pain on Monday midnight.
