More para-military forces required for Simaria bypoll
Chatra, Jan 5 (UNI) The district administration today said preparations were being made to conduct fair and free bypolls to the Simaria Assembly seat, slated for February 4.
Addressing a press conference here, Deputy Commissioner Puja Singhal Purwar said a demand of additional 26 companies of para-military forces had been made by the state government for violence free bypoll.
Ms Purwar said an official notification in this regard would be issued on January 10.
Quoting the Election Commission Ms Purwar said nomination papers could be filed till January 17 and scrutiny would be done the next day.
Nominations could be withdrawn till January 21.
Counting of votes would be done on February seven.
About 2.5 lakh voters would exercise their franchise in the bypoll, she stated.
