Hungama ties up with FMTS for anti-piracy software

Mumbai, Jan 5: To tackle the growing menace of piracy which is affecting the entertainment and media industry, Hungama Mobile has tied up with UK-based Friend Media Technology Systems (FMTS) to provide a solution in the form of their latest software ''Expose''.

The software is aimed to enable the entertainment and media industry to identify and control the use and misuse of their intellectual properties and brands. ''Expose'' is specially customised to track down the exact source of intellectual properties and brands being pirated and distributed across the World Wide Web, whether it's an individual or the community at large.

The software uses unique data analysis algorithms that monitor a vast array of sources on the Internet, ranging from peer-to-peer networks to discussion forums and newsgroups.

The software promises to deliver on accurate real-time monitoring, C&D notices, competitors and market awareness, monitoring of public profile and global dissemination.

Hungama Mobile Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Neeraj Roy expects over 50 per cent of the market to start using this service within a year.
