Govt sanctions Rs 706 cr for new court premises
Lucknow, Jan 5 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government has given the nod for new premises of the Allahabad High Court's Lucknow Bench in Vibhuti Khand area of Gomti Nagar here spread over 40 acres of land.
The decision was taken here at a meeting of council of ministers presided over by UP Chief Minister Mayawati last evening.
According to a government release today, Rs 732 crore was the total expenditure estimated, of which 706.03 crore had been sanctioned for the construction of the courts and chambers of the Chief Justice, other senior judges, besides the visiting judges.
Besides, a library with the capacity of 3.50 lakh books will also be part of the new building.
