Five-year-old son of businessman killed by abductors in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 5 (UNI) A five-year-old son of a businessman was killed by kidnappers in Delhi, police said today.

They said Aroop Mandal, son of Shankar Mandal, a fabricator and a resident of MIG flat in Rajouri Garden area of West District, was reported missing on January 2.

A first information report (FIR) was lodged with the Rajouri Garden police station following which a search operation began.

On the same night, police said the parents of the abducted boy received ransom calls of Rs two lakh from Badarpur, Barabanki and other areas.

After tracing the calls and hectic efforts, police today arrested one of the kidnappers, identified as Azad, at whose instance the body of Aroop was recovered from a rented accommodation in Raghubir Nagar area.

Preliminary investigations suggested that the five-year-old boy was strangulated to death.

Police said massive efforts have been launched to trace the other abductors.

On investigations, police said it was found that all the abductors were ex-employees of the businessman.
