Antique idols burgled in Uttar Pradesh

Masked
burglars
decamped
with
several
antique
idols,
estimated
at
Rs
one
crore
in
the
international
market,
from
a
century-old
temple
in
Kotwali
area
here.
The burglary occurred at Shahganj locality late last night, where a band of idol thieves broke into an ancient temple and flew the coop with precious 'ashtadhatu' idols of Lord Ram, Laxman, Sita, Krishna and Balram.
The robbery was unearthed this morning, when the temple priest went for the 'Mangla Arti'. A manhunt had been launched.
