3 unauthorised buildings demolished by BMC
Mumbai, Jan 5 (UNI) The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) today demolished three two-storeyed unauthorised buildings at Patilpada, Khar in the western suburbs.
Deputy Municipal Commissioner Milind Shambharkar said that the buildings, constructed on Collector's land, were demolished under the directive of the Suburban Collector.
The builder had violated the CRZ (Coastal Regulation Zone) and DC (Development Control) norms.
Earlier, the Collector's Office had made several correspondence attempts with the tenant in the buildings and the builders. But, they did not respond to any correspondence.
Finally, the Collector's Office directed the Corporation to demolish the unauthorised buildings, he added.
Nearly 70 labourers were engaged for the demolition work, which was carried out manually, and 50 police personnel were deployed to control any eventuality, he added.
