24 prisoners injured in clash in Bihar

Sasaram, Jan 05 (UNI) As many as 24 prisoners and a jail warden were injured when two rival groups clashed over a trivial issue at divisional jail here today.

Official sources said here that jail inmates owing allegiance to the proscribed CPI (Maoist) attacked another group of prisoners following differences over a trivial issue.

Jail warden Ravindra Nath also sustained injuries in the incident.

The condition of the four prisoners was stated to be serious.

Senior police officers arrived the spot to tackle the situation, which was brought under control after their intervention.
