Two women killed, 2 injured as bus rams ambulance
Sangli, Maharashtra, Jan 4 (UNI) Two middle-aged women were killed on the spot and two others injured seriously, when a luxury bus rammed into an ambulance near Civil Hospital chowk here.
The women were identified as Sakhubai Gajanan Kale and Padmawati Shivaji Shegdar, both in their 50s, hailing from village Lingre in Khanapur tehsil of the district, police sources said.
Among the injured was the ambulance driver, who has been admitted to a private hospital, police sources said, adding the two women, along with a pregnant woman, were on their way to civil hospital here to admit her for delivery, when the accident took place yesterday.
The pregnant woman, who was unhurt in the accident, later gave birth to a child, the sources added.
