Reliance to set up IT Institute in Rupnagar: Sukhbir
Rupnagar, Jan 4 (UNI) Reliance group had plans to set up one of the biggest Information Technology Institute of the country here, Shiromani Akali Dal working president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said.
While talking to media persons, Mr Sukhbir Badal said that a high level team of the Reliance group was scheduled to visit Rupnagar Birla farm on January 15 for the selection of the site for the proposed institute.
He said that government had lot of plans for the development of the Rupnagar town and other parts of the district which would be unveiled shortly.
In reply to a question, regarding the opposition by the farmers to the acquisition of land for the construction of the International Airport at S.A.S. Nagar, Sukhbir Badal said that the issue would be settled as the land would be acquired as per the acquisition policy of the government under which market rates would be given to the farmers for the land acquired by the government.
Mr Badal said that NRI Sammelan being organized in the state would prove to be a milestone in the history of the state.
