Reliance awaits policy changes to foray into nuclear power
Mumbai, Jan 4 (UNI) Reliance Power's foray into Nuclear power generation depended much on policy changes to the Atomic Energy Act by the Union Government, Reliance ADA Group Chairman Anil Ambani said today.
Talking to newsperson at the Reliance Power mega IPO issue announcement here, he said the company was already preparing itself for its Nuclear ventures and nearly 100 personnel have been trained by the Nuclear power corporation.
Various issues such as Nuclear fuel supply and other arrangements need to be cleared before any foray could be made, Mr Ambani said adding that the existing legislation allowed entry of the private sector into the Nuclear power sector with a 49 per cent holding.
He said ''plenty of things need to be firmed up by the government to allow foray of the private sector into Nuclear power''.
