'Homesick' woman from West Bengal commits suicide
Sangrur, Jan 4 (UNI) A woman from West Bengal allegedly committed suicide last night by hanging herself at her residence here as she was feeling ''homesick'', police today said.
According to police, Tasleem Begum, 28, was married to Mohammed Tariq, 30, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, about nine years ago. The couple had been residing here since then.
The police said she often quarrelled with her husband, a ricksaw-puller, demanding the family to migrate to West Bengal but Tariq was against the move.
The couple had a major quarrell over the issue last evening also before Tariq left for work.
Tasleem, after putting their three sons to sleep, apparently hanged herself from the roof with her 'dupatta' and was found dead by husband when he returned late last night, police said.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of CRPC after the post mortem confirmed death by hanging.
