Haryana to set up Mini Knowledge City in Hisar

Chandigarh, Jan 4 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today the State Government had decided to develop a 'Mini Knowldge City' at Hisar in public private participation mode.

It would also set up four State Level Technical Institutes at Rohtak for providing technical education of international standard to the youth of the State.

Presiding over a meeting to review the progress of various Technical and Industrial Training Institutes of the State here today, the Chief Minister said the Mini Knowledge City would include the professional job-oriented courses such as Leather Technology, Sugar Technology, Aeronautics, Air Craft Maintenance, Metallurgy, Paper and Pulp Technology, Animation and Graphics Design, Tourism and Management, Para Medical and Bio Technology.

The Chief Minister said the Central Government was actively considering to set up Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Haryana for imparting the latest and up-to-date knowledge of Information Technology to the youth.

He said the State Government had also decided to set up four State Level Technical Institutes--State Institute of Design and Fashion Technology, State Institute of Film and TV, State Institute of Fine Arts and State Institute of Professional Studies for Women at a cost of Rs 90 crore at Rohtak. These four Institutions will start functioning from July, 2009, he added.

The Chief Minister said with a view to providing qualitative techical education and technical knowhow the State Government had decided to set up these institutes to help the youth of the State in providing them ample job opportunities.

Mr Hooda directed the officers of the Technical Department to complete the works of Polytechnics being set up at Lisana, Sanghi, Sampla, Cheeka and Narwana in scheduled time frame.

Member of Parliament Deepender Hooda, who was also present in the meeting, said National Capital Region Planning Board would provide sufficient funds to increase sources of human development in the NCR. He said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had assured him to provide liberal financial assistance to the NCR areas so that the congestion of National Capital could be eased.
