Farmers agitate demanding support price for Tomato
Kolar, Karnataka, Jan 4 (UNI) Members of Kolar District Farmers Hitha Rakshana Samithi today staged rasta roko blocking movement of vehicular traffic on National Highway No 4 for more than one hour in the town demanding support price for Tomato.
The agitators, who came in a procession with their carts filled with Tomato, threw the Tomatos on the road in protest.
Later they marched to Deputy Commissioner's office to submit a memorandum. However, they got enraged when DC G Ramachandra allegedly refused to listen to their plight and asked them to disperse after giving the memorandum.
The farmers sat on dharna in front of the office forcing the police to arrest six of them.
The arrested were later released.
