Hubli, Jan 4 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddiyurappa today said the BJP will develop the state on the lines of Gujarat, if it secured an absolute majority in the coming assembly elections.
Talking to reporters here, the senior BJP leader, who was here to participate in party's 'People Awareness Campaign', said, ''my becoming the Chief Minister after elections is not important. Party should secure absolute majority and return to power''.
To a question on change of party leadership in the state, Mr Yeddiyurappa said ''state unit President Sadanand Gowda had done very well in strengthening the party and 90 per cent of the workers want him to continue.'' ''It was for the party high command to decide on selecting candidates for the polls,'' he added.
