'Appoint physiotherapists in all PHCs'
Tiruchirapalli, Jan 4 (UNI) The Forum for Physiotherapists today appealed to the Tamil Nadu Government to appoint physiotherapists in every Primary Health Centre (PHC) in the State.
Addressing a press conference here, Forum General Secretary S Suresh said that by appointing physiotherapists at PHCs, adequate health care to the rural masses could be ensured, besides providing employment opportunities to the unemployed physiotherapists.
He wanted the Government to constitute the State Physiotherapists Council immediately and declare physiotherapy as an independent system of medicine.
He said that to draw the State Government's attention to their demands, the Forum would observe a token fast in Chennai on January six, he added.
